Toronto City Council approved zoning for about a dozen housing projects, including three under the Toronto Builds framework, which unifies several housing initiatives. These projects at 9 Shortt Street, 1631 Queen Street East, and 405 Sherbourne Street will add 1,087 new units, with many affordable for 40 years. Plans include mid-rise and high-rise buildings featuring a significant share of family-sized units, public spaces, and community amenities.
