Even with that progress, Ontario stayed far from decade-ago affordability: homes below $500K were 67% then, while homes above $1M eased to ~25% today.
Condo affordability shifted fastest: 46% of Ontario condos were valued below $500K in 2026, up from 24% four years earlier across the province.
Other home types stayed less accessible in Ontario, with just 5% of townhouses, 15% of semis, and 18% of detached homes below $500K.
From 2022 to 2026, Ontario municipalities with median values above $750K fell from 105 to 65, expanding the list of communities within reach.
